Staying at the Cal Expo RV park in Sacramento

Here is where RVtravel.com editor Chuck Woodbury stayed one night in March, 2010. The Cal Expo RV Park is close to downtown Sacramento, and right along the American River Parkway and the American River. A full hookup site (30 amp and 50 amp) in the quiet park cost $35 a night. If you have a bicycle with you, hop on the bike trail and head east to the town of Folsom, or west to downtown Sacramento. The park is very quiet,dog-friendly, and has weekly rates ($195) if you want to stay awhile. There are a few good restaurants a ten-minute walk away, plus some shopping, and you can fish in the river.
