Oh what a mess! Fifth wheel and truck stuck!

Here's an example of what would be called a tricky situation. That would be putting it mildly. After a truck pulling a fifth wheel trailer gets stuck in a lake in knee deep water, another truck comes to the rescue. Will that take care of the problem? Watch and see for yourself. But be warned: you don't get to the see the grand finale, so you can just try to guess the outcome.

Why towns pass laws prohibiting RV street parking

A week doesn't pass in the USA where a town somewhere doesn't pass a law prohibiting overnight RV parking on city streets. In many cases, RVs are not even permitted in driveways or in side yards of their owners' homes. The reason for the "no street parking" laws are illustrated in this video from Oakland, Calif., showing the RVs of homeless persons parked on city streets for weeks, even months at a time. The town has a law prohibiting stays of more than two hours, but apparently it's not always being enforced.

Take an RV shower with practically no water

In this short video, RVer Dave Ulmer shows you how he takes a shower using only two liters of water. "I have disconnected my RV hot water heater and use an electric tea kettle to heat my shower water with my excess solar panel power," he says. "I've been showering this way exclusively now for over three months and it works just great."

If you spend a lot of time boondocking, this might be a great way to take frequent showers with barely any impact on your freshwater or graywater holding tanks.
