The motorhome that launched Winnebago

Sandy Burns of RVtravel.com interviews RV Historian Al Hesselbart about the first Winnebago motorhome. The Winnebago F-19 debuted in 1967 with a price tag of less than $5,000, half that of other motorhomes at the time. The “F” was for “Ford chassis” and the “19” for its length of 19 feet. This was the motorhome that brought Winnebago to the public eye as the first affordably priced motorhome. Within a few years, it established Winnebago as a household name and a generic term for motorhomes.
