Look how easy it is to pick an RV lock

So you think your RV door lock will keep a bad guy out? Think again! Check out this video and you may be motivated to run out and get a dead bolt. This video doesn't actually show what the guy uses to pick the lock. But he does it fast — within seconds. The message is clear: if you want to keep burglars and other unwanted guests out of your RV, get good locks!

  1. So ... what do you recommend? What is the best alternative to existing locks on RVs? Is it a deadbolt or alarm or both? Where do we go to find out more about improving our security?

  2. RVs seem to only have a few variations to their locks. One persons key will open another. A couple years ago a lady locked herself out of her trailer. Another guy took the door key to his motorhome and unlocked it for her. The same is true for the bay/outside storage.

  3. This’s crazy, just a few seconds! I think I will have to buy new and effective locks for my RV. But, I admire the skills of this guy. I am not good at picking locks, but I have grasped a few tips from my friends. Here is a very informative and resourceful lock picking post that I have been using: http://survival-mastery.com/skills/evacuation/how-to-pick-a-locked-door.html

  6. These choices are; (1) Become a freelance locksmith, (2) Open up a locksmith business, and (3) Work for another locksmith. Other professions, unlike the locksmith are not able to freelance their skills for higher rates, or to become their own boss right away. www.hackettlocksmith.com
