How about this -- a fifth wheel travel trailer that can be pulled by a VW bug that can cruise down the highway at about 20 miles per gallon of gas! And get this: It can turn 360 degrees! Ever seen one of these recreational vehicles on the road? We wonder why this never caught on. Maybe now's the time!

Would the modern day equivalant be something like the Casita or Scamp? Those may not be towable by a Bug. I thought the best part was the 360 turning radius. Looks as cozy as two bugs in a rug.
ReplyDeleteI agree that this is something that's time has come again. I don't see why one of the smaller imports (Honda Fit for example) couldn't be outfitted to work the same way.

They quit making the fifth wheels that attached to the roofs of cars, because it weakened the car's roof. I have seen a couple, one in WA, and one in TX. But they were not on VWs!.
