Dawn drives a big motorhome, but nervously

Dawn is driving a big ol' Class A motorhome for the first time. She and her two traveling partners are crossing Texas. Dawn is pretty darn apprehensive about the whole driving thing. "I feel like I'm in a very large automobile," she says. While one travel partner rides shotgun, the other sips a cocktail from the coach section, offering commentary. Dawn gets pretty nervous as she passes a big truck. If you're thinking about driving a motorhome and are a little nervous about the idea, then maybe watching Dawn do it will give you some encouragement. Or not!

Almost Willie (Nelson) visits Quartzsite, Arizona

If you've been an RVer for very long, you've likely heard of Quartzsite, Arizona. It's a lonely spot of desert pretty much in the middle of nowhere. In the blazing hot summer, hardly anybody lives there. But come winter, the RVers invade -- tens of thousands of them at peak times camped in local RV parks and on the federal lands that surround the dusty outpost. Here's a short profile of a man who claims to be the number one Willie Nelson impersonator. A former funeral directory and county coroner, Tom Bradshaw gave up that life to hit the road as a Willie Nelson lookalike in a old red, white and blue motorhome with "Almost Willie" painted right on the sides. Hear him sing and get a little glimpse of Quartzsite in the background. Running time: About four minutes.

And what Horowitz wants to do is meet with those who call for dinner. Here's a fascinating five-minute mini-documentary about why he does it, how he came up with the idea, and then some highlights of his meals with strangers. Horowitz travels from dinner engagement to dinner engagement in an old mini-motorhome.

Town bans RV parking in residents' yards, driveways

Hardly a week passes in the USA that a community does not pass a law prohibiting RVs from being parked in residential neighborhoods along the curb, in driveways, or anywhere in sight of passersby. Antioch, Calif., is trying to clean up its image by cracking down on what it considers blight in residential neighborhoods. A law is now being enforced to ban boats, garbage cans and RVs anywhere on a resident's property where they can be seen from the street. Here's a TV news segment that sums up what is permitted and what is not permitted on a resident's property. What do you think? Please leave a comment.

Burning RV gets smashed by car

Wowie! What's the deal with people crashing cars into motorhomes and even crashing motorhomes into motorhomes? A couple of days ago we showed you a video of a car crashing through a motorhome (see below), and then yesterday (April 4), in Yuma, Arizona, the county fair held an RV destruction derby. And then today we came upon this video where a stuntman crashes through an RV that only moments earlier had burst in flames and was looking like a fireball! This is insanity!

Joe's RV sends hiliarious greeting

We guess that Joe's RV is a real place. But what we do know is that this holiday "commercial" for it is hilarious. The sound is a little tough to hear at times, so you may want to watch twice. Even though this video is meant for viewing during the holiday season, it's fun to watch anytime.

Maybe not the cat for your RV!

According to our surveys at RVtravel.com, about half of all RVers travel with a pet. Most bring along a dog, but cats are the second favorite. You say you don't have a pet to bring with you on your trips? How about this cute little kitty? Well. . . maybe not.
